Frequently Asked Questions

WHY IS BREASTFEEDING BEST?

Breast Milk is the best choice for providing all the essential nutrients, hydration and protective factors a child needs to grow and thrive. It also has benefits for mum, including convenience, strengthening the bond with a child and potentially helping with post-partum weight loss. If you are considering bottle-feeding either partially or exclusively, it is important to seek professional advice from a qualified healthcare practicioner such as your GP or a dietician. Bottle-feeding may adversely affect your ability to breastfeed by reducing your own milk supply which can be difficult to reverse. You should consider the financial and social implications when deciding on a feeding method for your baby such as convenience and cost. Biostime Nutrition aims to provide adequate nutrition for infants through the proper use of breastmilk substitutes where necessary. When using infant formula always prepare following the instructions on the tin or as advised by a qualified healthcare professional as unnecessary or improper use can affect the health of the baby.
