How many capsules should i be having per day?

Simply take three capsules daily. We recommend consuming them during or immediately after a meal, or as directed by a healthcare professional.

When is it recommended to start taking prenatal supplements?

It is generally recommended to start taking prenatal nutrients approximately three months prior to conception, you can then transition to a pregnancy specific supplement once you concieve. We always recommend consulting with your Primary Healthcare Professional when preparing for pregnancy or when considering a dietary supplement routine, as they can best advise on what’s right for your individual needs.

I am currently taking Biostime® MamaBiotic Advanced Preconception Multivitamin, when should I switch to a pregnancy multivitamin?

It is generally reccomended to transition from a preconception supplement to a pregnancy specific supplement once pregnancy is confirmed. We always recommend consulting with your Primary Healthcare Professional when considering a dietary supplement routine, especially in the context of pregnancy, as they can best advise on what’s right for your individual needs.

Is this product suitable for everybody during pregnancy?

Is it okay to change between pregnancy supplement brands?

Why do I need to take a prenatal vitamin?

Prenatal vitamins can be beneficial for supporting the nutritional needs required for both mother and baby. There are some specific nutrients that are required in higher amounts during pregnancy such as Folic Acid, which can help prevent bub from neural tube defects such as spina bifida and/or anencephaly, when taken daily for at least four weeks before conception and during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Is this product suitable for vegans and vegetarians?

No, this product is not suitable for those following a vegan or vegetarian diet as it contains fish, vitamin D (derived from lanolin) and is encapsulated in a bovine gelatine capsule.

If you are concerned about the health of yourself or your baby, talk to a healthcare practitioner. This product contains selenium which is toxic in high doses. A daily dose of 150 micrograms for adults of selenium from dietary supplements should not be exceeded. Do not exceed the stated dose except on medical advice. If you have had a baby with a neural tube defect/spina bifida, seek specific medical advice. Not for the treatment of iron deficiency conditions. Vitamin & mineral supplements should not replace a balanced diet.
